Baby Reid is a chiropractic kid! He was adjusted 2 days after birth, as soon as mommy could get it together to do so. Why so soon you may ask?! Birth is most often the first trauma to our spine and nervous system. A landmark study by Biedermann found that 90% of newborns had subluxations, small misalignments in the spine that interfere with the function of the nervous system. Since the nervous system controls and coordinates all of the functions in our body, it was that much more important to be sure our baby got off to a great start in life. After all, some huge adjustments to life on the outside and initiation of breastfeeding are made in those first precious hours of life outside the womb.
